Lenard Denham of Bolingbrook and Sarah Peterson of Morris were honored on Thursday, Jan. 26, as the “Bigs” of the Year for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Will and Grundy Counties.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Will and Grundy Counties is proud to announce its two newest board members, Melinda Mackey, of Harrah’s Joliet Casino & Hotel, and William Kent, owner of Servpro of Joliet. Mackey and Kent join 12 other Big Brothers Big Sisters board members.
As part of National Mentoring Month, Big Brothers Big Sisters will honor those people who make one-to-one mentoring successful; and participate in the national launch of new technology to support African American male mentoring initiatives. “Our small, passionate and diligent staff works with parents, volunteer mentors, generous donors, and supportive partners from the diverse communities we serve to give children who face adversity every opportunity to succeed," said CEO Lisa Morel Las of Big Brothers Big Sisters.
State Rep. Jim Watson (R-97, Jacksonville) and State Sen. A.J. Wilhelmi (D-43, Joliet) received Big Brothers Big Sisters Illinois State Association leadership awards in Springfield. Eighteen Big Brothers Big Sisters agencies cover 92 counties throughout the State of Illinois.Latest videos
